Volvo launches EX60 SUV and secures Tesla Supercharger access across Europe

Swedish automaker Volvo has begun production of its first model on the new SPA3 platform, the all‑electric EX60 SUV. The top‑spec P12 AWD version offers up to 810 km of WLTP‑rated range on a 112 kWh battery, can accelerate from 0‑100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and supports ultra‑fast 800 V charging (up to 370 kW, 10‑80 % in about 20 minutes). Production started at the Torslanda plant in Gothenburg on 22 April, with an annual capacity of 40 000 units and first European deliveries expected in summer 2026. Prices start at £64,860 in the UK and €71,990 in Germany.

Volvo also announced a partnership with Tesla that will allow owners of newer electric Volvos – including the EX60, EX30, EX40, EC40, EX90 and the ES90 sedan – to charge at Tesla Supercharger stations via the Volvo app from late 2026. The arrangement covers more than 20 000 Superchargers in 29 European countries, such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Norway and the United Kingdom.

In parallel, Volvo has introduced the ES90, a five‑metre‑long electric luxury lift‑back sedan built in China. The ES90 combines a 450 km WLTP range, a 350 kW fast‑charging capability (22 minutes to full) and a starting price of about €84,000. Test reviews note its spacious interior, extensive driver‑assist sensor suite and heavy reliance on touchscreen controls.
