Volvo launches EX30 Cross Country electric SUV in Malaysia
Volvo Car Malaysia has launched the locally assembled (CKD) EX30 Cross Country, marking the brand’s first rugged, adventure-focused electric SUV in the Malaysian market. Priced at RM218,888, the vehicle is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the previously available EX30 Ultra Twin Performance.
The Cross Country variant features several off-road enhancements, including a 19 mm increase in ride height, revised chassis tuning, and unique 19-inch wheels. Aesthetic updates include matte black lower bumpers, wheel arch extensions, and Vapour Grey skid plates. The front panel features a topographic graphic inspired by Sweden’s Kebnekaise mountain range.
Under the hood, the SUV utilizes a twin-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain delivering 428 PS and 543 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.7 seconds. It is equipped with a 69kWh NMC battery providing a WLTP range of up to 437 km. The vehicle supports DC fast charging up to 175kW, allowing a 10-80% charge in approximately 27 minutes.
