Volvo launches EX90 7‑seat EV in Japan with 650 km range

Volvo Cars Japan announced the market debut of its new seven‑seat electric SUV, the EX90, on 8 July 2026. The flagship model is priced from ¥11.99 million and is equipped with a 106 kWh battery that delivers a WLTC range of up to 650 km. All trims feature all‑wheel drive, while the top‑spec Twin Motor Performance version produces 500 kW (680 hp) and 870 Nm of torque, enabling a 0‑100 km/h sprint in 4.2 seconds.

The vehicle incorporates Volvo’s latest safety suite, including a driver‑understanding system and a world‑first occupant‑sensing radar that monitors minute chest movements. Interior space is crafted with bio‑based materials and FSC‑certified wood, while a 14.5‑inch infotainment screen runs Google services and Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms. An exclusive early‑purchase package offers five years of free rapid charging, a complimentary wall‑box, five‑year residual‑value financing, unlimited mileage battery warranty, and maintenance coverage.

Volvo positions the EX90 as a premium, family‑focused EV that combines high performance, advanced safety technology, and a comprehensive support program to make electric mobility more accessible in Japan.
