Volvo launches Plug & Charge for EX60 and EX90 SUVs in United States

Volvo Cars has begun rolling out its Plug & Charge feature for the all‑electric EX90 and the upcoming EX60 SUVs in the United States. The system automatically authenticates the vehicle and handles payment when the driver plugs into a compatible charger, removing the need for mobile apps, credit cards or manual start commands.

The feature works at more than 35,000 public fast‑charging stations, including Tesla Superchargers and IONNA locations, and can be located via the built‑in Android Automotive infotainment system or the Volvo Cars app. It is already active for EX90 owners; EX60 drivers will gain access when deliveries start later this year. For 2025 model‑year EX90s, a free Nvidia Orin computer upgrade is required for the service.
