Volvo Trucks adds electric semi trucks to American Truck Simulator

Volvo Trucks’ electric VNR and VNL semi‑truck models have been integrated into the driving simulation game American Truck Simulator, marking the first battery‑electric trucks to appear in the popular title. The update lets the game’s more than seven‑million players, ranging from casual gamers to professional drivers, experience the handling and charging of the VNR Electric – the first heavy‑duty electric truck launched in North America in 2020 – and the newer VNL Electric introduced at the ACT Expo.

Volvo Trucks North America president Peter Voorhoeve said the partnership introduces both diesel and BEV trucks to a passionate community and highlights real‑world usage, noting that over 750 VNR units are already operating across the continent and have logged more than 30 million miles. The inclusion also benefits the Czech developer SCS Software by showcasing realistic vehicle behavior to students and professionals in road transport.
