Volvo Trucks wins International Truck of the Year 2027

Volvo Trucks has been named the winner of the ‘International Truck of the Year 2027’ award. In a departure from previous years, the prize was awarded to a full range of battery-electric heavy vehicles rather than a single model.

The winning lineup includes the Volvo FH, FM, FMX Electric, and FH Aero Electric models. These vehicles are designed for diverse applications, including regional and long-haul transport, urban distribution, construction, and public utilities. Key improvements in the new range include increased range—up to 700 km—enhanced payload capacity, and reduced charging times.

The award was presented at the IAA Transportation expo in Hannover, Germany. The jury of 24 commercial vehicle journalists praised Volvo for developing a comprehensive electric portfolio that offers various cab and chassis configurations, demonstrating that electric transport is a viable solution for a wide variety of transport assignments.
