Volvo Trucks wins International Truck of the Year 2027

Overview

Volvo Trucks has been named the ‘International Truck of the Year 2027’ for its global battery-electric heavy vehicle lineup. The award, presented at the IAA Transportation expo in Hannover, Germany, marks the manufacturer’s eighth win for the prize.

In a departure from previous years, the award was granted to a full range of models rather than a single vehicle. The winning portfolio includes the FH, FM, and FMX Electric models, as well as the FH Aero Electric, which provides a driving range of up to 700 km on a single charge. The lineup is designed for diverse applications such as long-haul transport, urban logistics, and construction, offering improvements in payload capacity and reduced charging times.

Volvo Trucks President Roger Alm noted that demand for these new electric models is high, with orders nearly reaching capacity.
