Volvo Trucks wins International Truck of the Year 2027 for electric range

Volvo Trucks has been named the ‘International Truck of the Year 2027’ for its global battery-electric truck lineup. This marks the manufacturer’s eighth win for the prestigious award. The winning range includes the FH, FM, and FMX Electric models, as well as the FH Aero Electric, which offers an extended driving range of up to 700 km on a single charge.

The award recognizes Volvo’s ability to provide a comprehensive transport solution rather than just individual models. The lineup is designed to handle diverse tasks, including long-distance transport, urban logistics, construction, and specialized operations, by offering increased payload, improved range, and reduced charging times.

During the award ceremony at IAA Transportation in Hanover, Germany, Volvo Trucks President Roger Alm noted that demand for the new electric models is high, with orders nearly reaching capacity. The recognition also highlights Volvo’s ongoing global electric program, which includes the VNR Electric fleets currently operating in North America.
