Volvo expands Connected Safety features for EX60, EX90, and ES90

Volvo Cars has announced a significant software update for its electric EX60, EX90, and ES90 models, expanding its Connected Safety technology. The update introduces four new real-time hazard alerts: Large Animal Alert, Vulnerable Road User Alert (for pedestrians and cyclists), Roadwork Alert, and Accident Ahead Alert.

These features allow vehicles to detect hazards and share the information via the cloud, warning approaching drivers even before the danger is visible. This system integrates with the European ‘Data for Road Safety’ ecosystem, enabling the sharing of hazard data with other car manufacturers and national traffic management centers.

Additionally, the update brings Spatial Audio support via Apple CarPlay to the EX90 and ES90 models. This feature requires the premium Bowers & Wilkins audio system to provide an immersive, multi-dimensional sound experience using Dolby Atmos technology.
