Volvo updates vehicle lineup with hybrid and tech upgrades

Volvo is implementing several updates across its vehicle lineup, focusing on hybrid efficiency and technological integration.

The 2028 Volvo XC60 Hybrid T8 plug-in hybrid is expected to receive a significant update featuring a larger battery to increase electric-only driving range. This model aims to serve as a bridge between conventional luxury SUVs and full electric vehicles, potentially incorporating interior and software updates inspired by the EX60.

Additionally, Volvo is refreshing its compact models, including the EX40, EC40, and XC40. These updates include redesigned exterior elements such as new lighting, revised wheel designs, and a smoother tailgate surface. Inside, the vehicles will feature a larger 11.2-inch central touchscreen integrated with Google Gemini AI assistance. Technical upgrades also include a new generation of sensor systems—comprising cameras, radars, and ultrasonic sensors—and enhanced driver assistance features like lane change assist and 360-degree camera views.
