Volvo XC60 tops Polish sales and prepares major plug‑in hybrid upgrade

In June 2026 Polish registration data showed 950 new Volvo XC60s were sold, surpassing the Toyota Yaris (921) and Dacia Duster (914). The surge was aided by discounts of up to 60,000 zł, with the Core trim available for about 188,000 zł against a catalogue price of 227,000 zł. The model offers extensive safety and driver‑assistance systems, a 2.0‑litre mild‑hybrid engine delivering 250 hp, all‑wheel drive and a fuel consumption of about 7.5 l/100 km.

Volvo also announced a major update to the plug‑in hybrid T8 version of the XC60, scheduled for launch in the first half of 2027. A larger‑capacity battery is expected to more than double electric‑only range to over 110 km, possibly reaching 160 km, and to cut overall fuel use by roughly 30%. Production of the upgraded model will begin at Volvo’s South Carolina plant in the United States, reducing transport costs and tariff exposure. The update will be accompanied by aesthetic tweaks such as slimmer headlights and a redesigned rear‑light cluster.
