Voorst entrepreneurs implement green initiatives for climate resilience

Entrepreneurs at the Voorst business park in the Netherlands are implementing measures to make their locations more climate-resilient and attractive. Initiatives include installing green facades, planting additional trees, and disconnecting rainwater pipes to better manage heat, drought, and heavy rainfall.

During a recent lunch walk, nine participating companies, including Leeuwbouw, Scania, Co Zwolle, and NovaWare, showcased their completed greening projects. Johran Willegers, a local alderman, presented the first 'Green Companies Map' for Voorst, noting that investing in a sustainable work environment helps businesses attract talent and maintain economic competitiveness for the city of Zwolle.

The event serves as a precursor to workshops scheduled for October, organized by park managers, the municipality of Zwolle, and the province of Overijssel, aimed at further greening the Voorst and Marslanden business areas.
