Serbia is preparing for extraordinary parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25, 2026. The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) has established the official timeline, setting the deadline for submitting electoral lists for October 4 and the conclusion of the voter list for October 9. Political activity is intensifying as parties begin signature collection. The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) list, 'Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia,' reported significant momentum, with Aleksandar Vučić claiming over 170,000 signatures were collected within three hours. Meanwhile, the Workers' Party (Radnička partija) announced its decision to join the 'United Serbia' list to represent labor interests.

In contrast, student groups are organizing protests. Students at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade have voted to begin a faculty blockade on October 1, intended to last until the elections.
