Vox demands urgent security measures and coalition government in Ceuta

The political party Vox is demanding urgent action from the Ceuta local government to address security and border issues following a massive influx of people on July 30 and 31. Vox Ceuta president Juan Sergio Redondo criticized the central government's decision to create a single command structure, arguing it arrives too late and lacks the necessary coordination to manage the border effectively.

Redondo characterized the recent events as an “invasion” and a “border and territorial attack” by Morocco, suggesting that the government's focus on humanitarian and migratory perspectives is an error in diagnosis. He argues that the priority should be border control and territorial defense.

Additionally, Vox has pressured Ceuta President Juan Vivas for a response to a coalition government proposal made a week ago. The party claims that a PP and Vox executive would provide an absolute majority to tackle issues such as public insecurity, health concerns, and the consolidation of informal settlements. Vox asserts that Ceuta is currently “trapped between two blocked governments.”
