Vox party files terrorism complaint against Spanish PM over Ceuta crisis

The far-right Vox party has filed a legal complaint with Spain’s Supreme Court against Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska, and State Secretary for Security Aina Calvo. The complaint alleges cooperation with terrorism, negligence, and administrative abuse regarding the mass migration event in Ceuta last July.

Vox argues that the border crossing was a “coordinated operation” rather than spontaneous migration, claiming that security warnings were ignored and that the influx was used as a tool to pressure Spanish authorities. The party alleges that migrants were used as “human shields” to disrupt border security systems for political purposes.

In response to these accusations and claims from opposition leader Santiago Abascal that the government is under external influence from Morocco, Prime Minister Sánchez defended his administration during a parliamentary session. Sánchez rejected allegations of being subject to “blackmail” or foreign dictates, stating, “I may be a dog, but I have no master,” and accused Vox of posing a threat to Spanish democracy.
