VPBank climbs Forbes ranking and exits major stake in Kinh Bắc
VPBank (Vietnam Prosperity Joint‑Stock Commercial Bank) improved its position in the Forbes Global 2000 list for 2026, ranking 1,373 globally – a rise of 257 places from the previous year and the highest rank for a Vietnamese private commercial bank. The rise reflects growth in revenue, profit, assets and market value, and follows a strategic capital infusion from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
In a separate move, VPBankS sold 11.4 million shares of real‑estate developer Kinh Bắc on 29 June 2026, cutting its holding from 5.98 % to 4.77 % and raising roughly VND 340 billion. The transaction means VPBankS is no longer a top shareholder in Kinh Bắc, while other investors such as Vinatex‑Tân Tạo and PVI Fund Management are adjusting their stakes.
