VPBank's Cake app rolls out international money service at Vietnam retail stores

VPBank's digital banking platform Cake has partnered with Điện Máy Xanh and Thế Giới Di Động to launch the Cake GlobalX service. The service lets users receive money transfers from abroad through the Cake app and withdraw cash at more than 3,000 retail locations nationwide, including all Điện Máy Xanh and Thế Giới Di Động stores.

The rollout aims to simplify cross‑border payments for Vietnamese families with relatives overseas, freelancers, e‑commerce sellers and other users of international money flows. Registration is free, requires only a phone and ID, and customers can collect cash on‑site after the funds arrive in their Cake account.
