VR46 Racing Team announces Nicolò Bulega for 2027 MotoGP debut

The VR46 Racing Team has officially announced a major lineup change for the 2027 MotoGP season. Current WorldSBK leader Nicolò Bulega will join the team, marking his debut in the premier class. Bulega, a former member of the VR46 Riders Academy, will partner with Fermín Aldeguer, following a highly successful stint in the Superbike championship where he has dominated recent races.

This move coincides with the departure of Franco Morbidelli from the VR46 squad at the end of the 2026 season. Morbidelli, who has been a key figure in the academy and a former MotoGP race winner, is expected to transition to the WorldSBK category with the Aruba.it Racing Ducati team.

Bulega’s transition is supported by Ducati, as he will join the team as a factory-supported rider. He has already contributed to the development of the new 850cc MotoGP prototype. The restructuring of the VR46 lineup also follows the departure of Fabio Di Giannantonio, who is moving to Red Bull KTM.
