Vroomshoop offers free kids triathlon and FC Twente match cancelled

The Vroomshoop Triathlon scheduled for 6 September 2025 will allow children up to 12 years old to compete free of charge. The cost‑free entry is made possible by a subsidy from the newly created Twenterand Invest fund, which will reimburse the regular registration fee after the event.

A friendly football match between FC Twente and the Vroomshoopse Boys, slated for 27 June, was cancelled after authorities issued a red‑code alert due to extreme heat. The cancellation voided the planned opening of the new club house, and the 2 500 tickets sold through FC Twente’s system will be refunded to purchasers within 14 days.
