Várzea Grande activates artesian wells to improve water supply
Governor Otaviano Pivetta inspected the activation of two artesian wells in the Santa Bárbara residential area of Várzea Grande. The wells have a combined capacity of approximately 70,000 liters of water per hour and will supply a 500,000-liter reservoir.
The project aims to improve water supply for roughly 6,000 residents who have faced irregular access and service interruptions since 2019. This initiative is part of the ‘Aliança pela Água’ (Water Alliance), a program established through a conduct adjustment agreement between the Mato Grosso state government, the Várzea Grande city hall, the State Public Ministry, and the State Court of Accounts to address historical water supply issues in the municipality.
