Várzea Grande expands road resurfacing and cleaning efforts

Mayor Flávia Moretti of Várzea Grande inaugurated a new phase of the municipal road‑recovery programme, allocating R$ 15.1 million in partnership with the state of Mato Grosso to fully repave fifteen streets, including Avenue Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes and several others, with the goal of completing the works before the rainy season.

The city’s "VG em Ação" force‑task continues to carry out extensive urban maintenance, performing grass cutting, brush clearing, debris removal, tree pruning, public‑space revitalisation and curb painting across dozens of neighbourhoods such as Joaquim Curvo, Vila Arthur, Marechal Rondon, and the Orla da Alameda. The programme also upgrades mobility infrastructure with new road signage, speed‑bump installations and modernised street lighting.

In addition, the municipal administration announced that it will fund drainage and asphalt repairs on Avenida Leôncio Lopes de Miranda using its own resources after the contracted company failed to respond to notices. The municipality has notified the Tribunal de Contas and opened an administrative proceeding to sanction the contractor and ensure the necessary deep‑drainage works are carried out promptly.
