Várzea Grande advances land regularization for 977 homes in Construmat

The municipality of Várzea Grande held a mobilization meeting on Friday, 24 April at the São João Batista Catholic Church in the Construmat neighbourhood. Hundreds of residents attended to learn about the free regularisation process for 977 properties under the Acelera VG – Urban Land Regularisation (Reurb) programme.

Technical staff from the city's Urban Development, Land Regularisation and Housing Secretariat explained the documentation required, the registration steps and the timeline, which can range from six months to a year after the submission of paperwork. The initiative targets families occupying homes without any other registered property, offering them legal title at no cost, funded by the municipality and the state government.

Officials underscored that the process includes urban surveys, environmental studies, family registration, project approval and eventual recording at the land registry, aiming to formalise long‑standing settlements and improve residents' access to services.
