Vuelta Ciclista a Castilla-La Mancha Leader launches with women's stages in Sigüenza

The second edition of the Vuelta Ciclista a Castilla-La Mancha Leader women's race began on 7 August 2026, starting in Sigüenza and finishing in Cifuentes after a 77‑km stage. A second women's stage on 8 August covered 107 km from Sacedón to Beteta, completing a total of 184 km for the female competition. Fifteen national and international teams entered, featuring riders such as Maite Urteaga, Tamara Seijas, Beatriz Roxo, Marta Beti and Raquel Queiros.

A dedicated Unidad de Movilidad y Seguridad Vial of the Guardia Civil was deployed to protect the entire seven‑stage race, which runs from 7 to 13 August across the five provinces of Castilla‑La Mancha. The 37‑person unit, including traffic and citizen‑security officers, coordinated with local police and civil‑protection volunteers to secure start‑ and finish‑areas and other critical points along the 1,004‑km route that passes through 102 municipalities.
