Vietnam hosts a series of major sports, cultural and architectural events in June 2026
The province of Thanh Hóa opened its 10th Provincial Sports Festival on 27 June, featuring nearly 2,000 athletes from 166 communes and two security forces, with the closing ceremony scheduled for 29 June.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Báo Xây dựng Run concluded on 28 June, drawing almost 4,000 runners across 5 km, 10 km and 21 km distances. Winners included Nguyễn Văn Khang (5 km men) and Nguyễn Anh Trí (10 km men), among others, and prize money totalling 142 million VND was awarded.
The Lý Sơn Half Marathon on the island of Lý Sơn (Quảng Ngãi) attracted close to 1,800 participants competing in 5 km, 10 km and 21 km races. Organisers highlighted the scenic coastal route and local hospitality, while athletes praised the challenging terrain and community support.
Quảng Trị Province prepared its 2026 Peace Festival, slated from April to December, with events such as a balloon festival, a national concert, and a marathon, aimed at promoting peace, tourism and investment.
The Police Architecture Association held its 2026–2031 Congress, setting new digital‑green‑fast‑accurate priorities and electing a new leadership board.
Finally, the Asian Architecture and Tourism Awards ceremony was staged for the first time in Vietnam’s Ha Long World Heritage site on 26 June, gathering architects, designers and tourism professionals from about 20 countries to recognise projects focused on sustainability, cultural identity and climate‑responsive design.
