Wael Naouar faces declining health during Tunisian detention
Wael Naouar, a Tunisian activist involved in the Sumud flotilla and a May land convoy in Libya, is facing deteriorating health while in detention. His father, Hichem Naouar, reported during a visit that Wael is experiencing dizziness, difficulty controlling his left leg, trembling, and an inability to keep water down without vomiting.
Family members expressed significant distress over the impact of his imprisonment on his children. Hichem Naouar noted that his nine-year-old grandson, Yassar, has experienced worsening school performance and sleep disturbances since the detention. A legal challenge regarding Wael's detention was recently brought before the Tunis Court of Appeal.
