Wagga Wagga man charged with manufacturing explosives and weapons

A 30-year-old man has been charged with 16 offences following a police investigation in the Riverina region. During a search in Wagga Wagga, officers allegedly seized two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which were subsequently declared safe by the Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit.

In addition to the explosives, police reported finding a slam gun, ammunition, cannabis seeds, cocaine, MDMA, and testosterone. The man faces multiple charges, including manufacturing a military-style weapon without a permit, possessing prohibited drugs, and possessing ammunition without a license. He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on October 21, 2026.
