Walmart partners with Dunkin’ to expand restaurant delivery services
Walmart is expanding its presence in the restaurant-delivery market through a new partnership with Dunkin’. The initiative, part of the Walmart Restaurant Delivery service, will initially launch at 150 Dunkin’ locations situated within Walmart stores. The company plans to expand this service over the next year to include most of Dunkin’s approximately 10,000 U.S. locations, including standalone restaurants.
This move positions Walmart as a direct competitor to established delivery platforms like DoorDash and Uber Eats. By utilizing its existing Spark driver network, Walmart aims to integrate restaurant orders with traditional grocery and household item purchases. This allows customers to add items such as coffee and doughnuts to the same digital shopping cart as groceries and toiletries, leveraging Walmart’s vast physical footprint and logistics infrastructure to increase e-commerce transaction frequency.
