Walt Disney World announces new Lakeshore Lodge resort

Walt Disney World is developing a new nature-inspired resort, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, located along the shores of Bay Lake. The property will feature 967 rooms, including studios, villas, suites, and one- or two-bedroom Lake Houses. The design is expected to draw inspiration from Disney films such as ‘Pocahontas’, ‘Bambi’, and ‘Brother Bear’, emphasizing woodland themes and outdoor recreation.

Amenities planned for the resort include a lazy river, expansive pool areas, scenic trails, and waterfront dining. The resort will also offer water taxi access to Magic Kingdom Park.

While the official opening is scheduled for July 1, 2027, Disney Vacation Club members will have the opportunity to participate in a “First Wave” experience. This exclusive three-night event will run from June 24 through June 27, 2027, providing eligible members with early access to the resort, theme park tickets, and special dining experiences. Bookings for the member experience are expected to open in late 2026.
