Walt Disney World completes Haunted Mansion exterior refurbishment

After months of construction, the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort has had its exterior work finished. All scaffolding and themed scrim have been removed, revealing a refreshed façade that returns to the color scheme and detailing of the attraction’s 1971 opening. The bricks are now a brighter red, the trim a crisp gray, and the metal accents a deep metallic green, while new landscaping and stonework have been added around the base of the building.

The refurbishment also included minor changes to the queue area, such as the relocation of a gravestone featuring “a man named Martin.” The visual overhaul restores the mansion’s original visual contrast and prepares the attraction for upcoming seasonal decorations.
