Walt Disney World continues Tower of Terror refurbishment

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing an extensive exterior refurbishment. The project, which began in May 2026, has involved significant scaffolding and structural work to refresh the facade of the 199-foot Hollywood Tower Hotel.

Despite the ongoing construction, the attraction has remained open to guests. As scaffolding is removed, a refreshed paint job on the building has begun to emerge.

In addition to the physical renovations, Disney has confirmed that the attraction will feature in the 2026 holiday season through the return of Sunset Seasons Greetings. This event includes nighttime projections that transform the hotel into various festive scenes, such as a gingerbread hotel, a Toy Story-themed hotel, and a snowy version of Arendelle. The separately ticketed Jollywood Nights event is also scheduled to run from November 7, 2026, through January 5, 2027.
