Walt Disney World expands construction at EPCOT's Germany Pavilion
Walt Disney World Resort has enlarged the construction zone around the Germany World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. New rolling planters, scrim‑covered scaffolding and additional barriers now block several walkways, conceal the second‑floor balcony, faux stairs and the Stein Haus sign, and encroach on the adjacent garden area. The Stein Haus gift shop remains open, but guests must use the alternate "Weinkeller" entrance on the opposite side of the building. Disney has not issued a public comment on the refurbishment, which appears to be a cosmetic retheme of the Bavarian‑styled architecture.
The changes were first observed in late June, with additional barriers and a black‑pot plant added on July 2 to close gaps in the construction perimeter. Despite the exterior work, interior operations of the gift shop continue unhindered.
