Walt Disney World announces resort updates and changes to guest perks

Walt Disney World is implementing several changes to guest benefits and resort offerings. The upcoming Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, scheduled to open on July 1, 2027, will include Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours, and free entry to either Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach upon check-in. However, the free water park perk will be limited to the summer season and will not extend to guests staying at the Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.

In other updates, the My Disney Experience mobile app has launched a new feature allowing guests to submit hotel room preference requests electronically. Additionally, Disney has modified the Annual Passholder merchandise discount; while a 20% discount remains available on eligible items, certain purchases that previously qualified for the discount no longer do.

Regarding park access, Magic Kingdom is seeing high demand for November 2026. Annual Passholder reservations for November 11, 2026, are reportedly unavailable, likely due to scheduled daytime performances and filming of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade for an ABC holiday special.
