Walt Disney World expands Magic Kingdom ferry dock, adds fourth boat by 2027

Construction at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom ferryboat dock has entered a new visible phase. Green walls now enclose the south end of the dock site along the Seven Seas Lagoon walkway, directly beside the guest queue that leads to the ferry loading platform.

The project, permitted in early 2026 and approved by Florida's water‑management district in March, follows earlier land‑clearing and flood‑plain work that began in June. The new dock is being built to accommodate a fourth ferryboat, the Meg Gilbert Crofton, slated to join the fleet in 2027, thereby increasing transport capacity between Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center. Ferry service continues uninterrupted, with monorail service available as an alternative. No specific opening date for the dock has been announced beyond the 2027 timeline.
