Disney World Magic Kingdom ferry dock project

Overview

In late July 2026 Walt Disney World began visible work on a new ferry dock at Magic Kingdom. On July 22 green walls were installed around the south end of the dock site along the Seven Seas Lagoon walkway after land‑clearing, flood‑plain work and a permit approval earlier in the year. By July 28 construction barriers were extended further along the lagoon walkway, routing guests around the site while they queue for ferry service to the Transportation & Ticket Center; flood‑plain compensation work continued and existing ferry and monorail services operated without interruption. The dock is being built to host a fourth ferryboat, the Meg Gilbert Crofton, expected to join the fleet in 2027.

Later in July Disney announced a $30 million resort‑renovation program that includes remodels at Animal Kingdom Lodge, a new music venue on BoardWalk, and upgrades at Coronado Springs. The announcement also referenced the ferry‑dock effort, noting new construction walls at the Magic Kingdom entrance as part of preparations for the fourth ferry vessel. These broader upgrades reinforce the ongoing timeline for the dock’s completion in 2027.
