Walt Disney World Railroad to close for month-long refurbishment
The Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom is scheduled to close for a routine refurbishment starting September 28. The attraction is expected to remain unavailable through October 29, with a planned reopening on October 30.
This month-long closure will impact guests visiting the park throughout October. While Disney has characterized the project as routine maintenance, the railroad has not undergone this type of refurbishment in several years. The closure follows previous extended shutdowns, such as the one that occurred during the construction of TRON Lightcycle / Run.
Currently, the railroad operates as a shuttle rather than a full loop due to the closure of Frontierland Station. Once it reopens on October 30, it is scheduled to operate from 9 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., though hours may vary based on Magic Kingdom’s specific event schedule.
