Walt Disney World Test Track Ride Closed for Over 24 Hours
The Test Track attraction at EPCOT in Walt Disney World experienced a major mechanical failure that left the ride shut down for more than 24 hours, stranding thousands of guests and prompting no official comment from Disney. The outage began on Saturday, continued through Sunday morning, and guests were unable to enter the ride despite being let into the showroom. Emergency doors were left open, air‑conditioning stopped, and the attraction’s signature finale doors remained non‑functional.
Within weeks, the ride returned to full operation. Cast members began loading all eight rows of the load station for the first time since the attraction’s 2025 reopening, and the previously disabled finale sliding doors were restored, allowing the special effect to run again. The improvements are expected to increase throughput and reduce standby times, though Disney has not explained the cause of the earlier breakdown.
