Walt Disney World to end Expedition Everest Single Rider service

Walt Disney World is discontinuing the Single Rider service at the Expedition Everest attraction in Animal Kingdom, effective September 21, 2026. The service, which allowed solo travelers or split groups to fill empty seats left by standby and Lightning Lane guests, will be removed from all official online listings and the My Disney Experience app.

Disney confirmed the decision follows months of internal testing regarding how Cast Members organize guests before they reach the loading platform. The change appears to be part of a broader operational shift; earlier adjustments in May included a system for sorting standby guests into odd and even numbered parties, which reduced the need for Single Rider guests to fill gaps in the ride trains.
