Walt Disney World Traffic Shift to New Floridian Way Segment on Aug 10, 2026

Drivers entering Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom area will be rerouted onto a newly built portion of Floridian Way on August 10, 2026. The change is part of the World Drive North Phase III project overseen by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD). Visitors traveling between the Magic Kingdom parking lot and the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will temporarily share the completed southbound lanes while construction continues on the northbound lanes and the remaining roundabout near the parking area.

CFTOD Administrator Stephanie Kopelousos announced the date at the district’s July 24 board meeting. The project, originally slated for completion by September 30, 2026, has been delayed about 15 months; the new contractual finish is now December 21, 2027. Two of the three planned roundabouts are already in place, with the southernmost still under construction. No official Disney traffic advisory has been released, but the interim configuration is intended to keep resort access open while work proceeds.
