In mid‑July 2026 the Florida Department of Transportation permanently split Interstate 4’s Exit 62 into two separate ramps, directing Disney visitors to a dedicated northbound route (Exit 62B) while the southbound ramp serves off‑property traffic. The modification was presented as a standalone project aimed at easing the flow of millions of annual guests, and it was noted as unrelated to the broader World Drive North widening effort.

A few weeks later, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District announced that, starting 10 August 2026, traffic bound for the Magic Kingdom would be rerouted onto a newly completed segment of Floridian Way. This change is part of the delayed World Drive North Phase III project, which now targets a December 2027 completion. The interim configuration allows access between the Magic Kingdom parking lot and the Grand Floridian Resort while construction continues on additional roundabouts and northbound lanes.

Together, the exit reconfiguration and the Floridian Way rerouting illustrate a series of incremental infrastructure adjustments intended to maintain and improve access to Walt Disney World amid ongoing road‑building delays.
