Walt Disney World Unveils New Australian Habitat and Clears Frontierland for Cars Expansion
Disney’s Animal Kingdom has officially opened Jumping Junction, an Australian‑themed wildlife habitat at Conservation Station. The exhibit, home to kangaroos and wallabies, follows a series of soft openings that began in early June and now operates on a regular schedule, complementing the Bluey’s Wild World seasonal experience.
At Magic Kingdom, Disney permanently closed Westward Ho Refreshments on June 21‑22, 2026, marking the second Frontierland venue to be removed as part of land‑clearing for the Piston Peak National Park project. The Cars‑inspired expansion will widen the Frontierland thoroughfare, downsize the Rivers of America waterway, and make way for new attractions, with other former kiosks already shuttered earlier in the season.
