Wang Huning meets U.S. delegates for China-U.S. Track 1.5 Dialogue

Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with United States delegates in Beijing for the third China-U.S. Track 1.5 Dialogue. The discussions focused on the future of bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and the risks associated with artificial intelligence development.

Wang referenced previous discussions between President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump, stating that China is prepared to work with the United States to implement agreements reached by the two leaders. Key priorities for the dialogue include fostering mutual understanding, respecting the fundamental interests of both nations, strengthening sectoral cooperation, and managing existing divergences.

The goal of the meeting is to build a “constructive” relationship characterized by greater strategic stability. While acknowledging the delicate state of relations, the U.S. delegation noted that direct dialogue between the two heads of state remains a vital element in preserving bilateral stability and mitigating the risk of new tensions.
