Clash on Jalan Tambak, Menteng Leaves Four Injured and Property Burned

Police divided the investigation of the violent confrontation on Jalan Tambak in Menteng, Central Jakarta, into three separate clusters to identify participants and responsibility. The clash began when a group allegedly approached a stall near Masjid Jami Matraman with knives, damaged a nasi uduk cart and ignited a semi‑permanent structure and four motorcycles.

Kombes Budi Hermanto of the Metro Jaya Police Public Relations said the incident resulted in four people being taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital and the burning of the building and motorcycles. Rapid police action contained the situation, and by evening the area was reported as becoming increasingly calm. Kombes Reynold E. P. Hutagalung, head of the Metro Jakarta Police, confirmed that about 15 suspects have been detained for questioning as part of the three‑cluster investigation.

The response involved nine fire‑engine units and 45 personnel, with the fire extinguished within an hour. Authorities continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses to determine the full scope of the violence.
