Warmia-Masuria region in Poland receives environmental and tourism voucher funding

On 27 July in Olsztyn, Marshal Marcin Kuchciński handed contracts to 24 municipalities for the fifth edition of the "Blue‑Green Grants" competition, part of the Warmian‑Masurian regional programme to improve nature, climate protection, air quality and natural resources. The contest attracted 56 applications requesting more than PLN 1.24 million, and the voivodeship board approved aid totaling over PLN 5 million for the selected projects, which include tree planting, fountain construction and lake water‑circulation improvements.

Separately, Poland’s Ministry of Sport and Tourism allocated PLN 6 million to four regional operators of the Tourist Voucher (Czek Turystyczny) programme. Each of the Warmian‑Masurian, Subcarpathian, Podlaskie and Lublin regions will receive PLN 1.5 million to issue electronic vouchers worth PLN 300‑600 for at least two overnight stays. Seniors over 60 and holders of the Large Family Card are eligible. The programme will run in three phases from 1 September to 30 November, with the funds covering up to 50 % of project costs.
