Skydance to be the name of new Paramount and Warner Bros. merger FAST-MOVING

Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery are set to merge into a new media conglomerate named Skydance, as announced by Paramount CEO David Ellison. The deal, valued at approximately $110 billion, is expected to close on October 6, 2026. The merger follows a legal settlement with several U.S. states that had raised antitrust concerns.

Under the new corporate structure, Skydance will serve as the parent company, while Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. will continue to operate as distinct, iconic brands. The combined entity will control a massive portfolio of intellectual property and media assets, including HBO, CNN, CBS, Nickelodeon, Paramount+, and major franchises such as Harry Potter, DC Comics, and Mission: Impossible.

Leadership changes are also underway. David Ellison will serve as Chairman and CEO, with former Mattel executive Ynon Kreiz appointed as co-CEO to manage day-to-day operations. Additionally, Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy will depart from their leadership roles at Warner Bros. and will not be part of the new management team. The new company will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol ‘SKYD’.
