Warner Music Group announces major global leadership reorganization
Warner Music Group has announced a significant leadership reorganization across its global recorded-music divisions. Val Blavatnik, son of majority owner Len Blavatnik, has been appointed Managing Director of North America, UK, and corporate development.
Other key executive changes include the promotion of Alejandro Duque to President of Warner Music International, Aaron Bay-Schuck becoming the sole Chairman and CEO of Warner Records Group, and Guillermo Gonzalez being elevated to President of Warner Music EMEA. Additionally, Elliot Grainge, head of Atlantic Music Group, will now serve as Chairman of ADA, the company’s distribution and artist-services division.
In the UK and Ireland, Sonny Takhar has been appointed CEO. His leadership is expected to focus on digital transformation and talent development as the industry shifts toward streaming platforms. The reorganization also sees Simon Robson departing the company after nearly 30 years, with a transition period expected over the coming months.
