Warner Music Group consolidates global sync operations

Warner Music Group (WMG) is merging its recorded music and publishing synchronization (sync) activities into a single global organization. The move aims to streamline the licensing process for films, television, advertisements, and video games by providing clients with a centralized point of contact for the company’s entire catalog.

Ron Broitman has been promoted to President of Global Sync to lead the new unit. He will oversee sync teams across various divisions, including Warner Chappell Music, Atlantic Music Group, Warner Records Group, and ADA. Broitman will report to WMG Chief Operating Officer Tom Corson, with strategic oversight from Guy Moot, Chair and CEO of Warner Chappell Music.

The restructured division will manage creative pitching, marketing, business development, licensing clearance, administration, and data analytics. WMG stated that the unified approach is intended to accelerate turnaround times for clearances and expand the pitching reach for its artists and songwriters.
