Warrington venues to host Heritage Open Days festival
Warrington is participating in the Heritage Open Days festival, a nationwide celebration of history and culture running from September 11 to 20. The program features various events designed to showcase the borough’s local landmarks and historical narratives.
Key activities include behind-the-scenes tours of the Grade II listed Parr Hall, explorations of Walton Hall and its gardens, and a look at drone technology used in crime prevention at the Museum of Policing in Cheshire. Other scheduled events include heritage walks, bell-ringing demonstrations at St Matthew’s Church in Stretton, and commemorations of St Oswald’s Church in Winwick regarding its connection to the English Civil War. The festival also marks 150 years of the Warrington Wolves Rugby League.
