Warsaw Equality Parade marks 25th anniversary

On Saturday 13 June, Warsaw hosted the 25th edition of the Equality Parade, a peaceful march advocating LGBTQ+ rights. The event began at 11:00 with the "Miasteczko Równości" in Park Świętokrzyskim, followed by the official parade at 14:00 moving from Świętokrzyska through Krakowskie Przedmieście, Miodową, Senatorską, Marszałkowską and back to Świętokrzyska. City mayor Rafał Trzaskowski took part, and a line‑up of celebrities—including Julia "Maffashion" Kuczyńska, Marta Wiśniewska, Jacek Jelonek and Małgorzata Ostrowska, who sent supportive Instagram messages from a concert venue—were highlighted. Organisers emphasized the march’s symbolic route through the historic and political centre of the capital, underscoring the community’s demand for equal rights, anti‑discrimination measures, transgender legal recognition and marriage equality. The post‑parade programme continued with performances, DJ sets and activist talks until 21:00.
