Warsaw expands paid parking zone and restores tram service on key avenues

From Monday, Warsaw's tram network will resume service on the main routes through Alei "Solidarności" between Kercelak and Femina and on Alei Jana Pawła II from Femina toward Stawek, returning to the pre‑renovation schedule. Drivers will still face some restrictions, such as a prohibited crossing at the centre of the intersection of Alei "Solidarności" and Jana Pawła II and several detours near the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Nowolipie, a grocery store and Ogrodowa. New lanes beside the tracks from Okopowa to Żelazna are opened to improve traffic flow, while lane closures near the tracks remain.

The Warsaw City Council also approved a further expansion of the Strefa Płatnego Parkowania Niestrzeżonego (unattended paid parking zone). Starting in September 2026, the entire Odolany estate in the Wola district will be included, followed by the area between Saska and Międzynarodowa streets in Praga‑Południe. A second phase, set for May 2027, will bring the zone to Służewiec and part of Służew in Mokotów, ending free street parking in the area known as "Mordor". For the first time, the historic Włochy district will also join the system. The changes aim to rotate parked vehicles, reduce long‑term free parking, and improve traffic conditions for residents and commuters.
