On 6 August, a 3‑kilometre section of the A1 highway between Pyrzowice and Piekary Śląskie entered a major repair phase to eliminate the long‑standing “Dunaj waves”. The work, carried out by a consortium of COLAS Polska and ANTEX II, is funded at 36.3 million zł and includes resurfacing, drainage upgrades, and acoustic screens. Traffic toward Gliwice is closed; vehicles are rerouted onto the opposite carriageway with one lane per direction and a speed limit of 60 km/h. The contractor plans to finish the segment by the end of August 2027, after which full speed limits may be restored.

Other infrastructure projects across Poland are proceeding in parallel. In Zgierz, road works on Wiosny Ludów street began on 10 August with alternating traffic and no changes to bus routes. Szczecin started a second phase of temporary road changes on Andersena and Północna streets from 7 to 20 August, limiting access to some properties. Łódź is implementing temporary traffic arrangements at the al. Palki intersection from 7 to 10 August, affecting several bus lines. In Warsaw, emergency water outages affected the Ursus and Ursynów districts; a tank‑truck was positioned on 6 August and service is expected to be restored by 7 August.

These coordinated works aim to improve road safety, traffic flow, and utility reliability nationwide.
